Doggone Pawsitive's Unique Flex Class System

Our exciting flexible class system gives you flexibility in how you schedule your dog’s training classes – even in the case of vacations, sickness, conflicting activities (business meetings, concerts). Now you can even take classes if you a shift worker !

Doggone Pawsitive knows that life can be hectic and that many people want to train their dogs but find it hard to be locked into a fixed schedule. So we responded by re-designing most of our courses to a flexible class format. This is a unique Doggone Pawsitive feature !

Advantages

• Training that fits your life and your schedule with maximum flexibility.
• All classes offer a rolling enrollment so you can start any time - no more waiting for a class to start and no more waiting until you have 6 or 8 weeks completely free to start a course.
• All classes are self contained learning units. You are never behind or ahead - if you are away you just come back into the program.
• You get all the lessons you pay for - in a traditional 6 or 8 week program if you miss you often miss out on that lesson.

How Does Our Class System Work?

1. Please read website link on the top menu titled "How to Select Right Class or Service".
2. Select class from the descriptions on the left side of our website.
3. Register for class & orientation seminar (orientation is an amazing information packed introductory seminar for owners only) via email, phone or online (online enrollment NOW LIVE VIA WEBSITE ).
4. Check website calendar for class schedule.
5. Attend class - classes are open enrollment and each class is a separate learning unit.
6. Currently students have 12 weeks to finish their classes.
7. Graduate from class feeling empowered and with a dog who is better behaved!
8. Repeat the process & attend advanced level and specialty classes as you had lots of fun the first time and your dog still has more to learn.

What is Orientation?

• If you are registering for Puppy Kindergarten or Level 1 Good Manners or are new to our training, your first step in booking classes is to book into an introductory seminar called Orientation - which is part people training, part dog training.
• This amazing seminar gets you started working on your dog's problems right away.
• Orientation is your introduction to how dogs learn, the training and to problems solving.
• At orientation we demonstrate the basic training principles with a puppy, we demonstrate some simple obedience exercises and talk about problem solving and how it applies to your situation and we answer your questions.
• You don't bring your dog to orientation - just family members. All family members above age 5 welcome to attend. The session is usually too long for younger children.
• Orientations are held weekly - see our calendar on the website and in the online registration form (once online registration live).

What Do I Do After Orientation

• With our open enrollment system we have designed a simple to use system that allows YOU to be in control of your own class schedule.
• Book into a class type that best suits your needs, pick a start date and then you build your own personalized schedule according to the schedule posted on our website at www.doggonepawsitive.com.
• If you don’t have internet – we can print a schedule for you.
• The class schedules will be posted for at least a month in advance.
• You currently have 12 weeks to finish your classes - puppy and good manners is orientation + 5 classes and most other classes are 6 weeks - check class description for the exact number of weeks. If class is cancelled or your instructor is away your class completion time is extended accordingly.
• Perfect Puppy Kindergarten is divided into Flex puppy 1 & Flex puppy 2 each with its own skills to work on. An owner completes two Flex pup 1 classes then moves on to 3 Flex pup 2 classes.
• For new class registrants - the only thing we need to know is what day or night you have chosen to start your class. If you have registered online you will have selected this when registering. If you did not register online once you attend orientation, it is the responsibility of the family to follow up by checking the schedule on our website and then to advise via email or telephone when you want to start.
• Remember given that each class is self contained you are never ahead or behind. If you miss a class - just check the calendar and plan to attend a future class. To make things faster and easier for you, there is no need to notify us - you just show up.
• Last session is your graduation - complete with diploma and your special graduation kit. No formal gowns or tuxes necessary but we have had some bow ties and pearls! Please note usually in beginner classes in class 4 we take a graduation photo of you and your dog for your graduation folder and our Grad Hall of Fame.

Class Scheduling

• Remember please do check the website calendar each week before you come as special events and/or holidays may impact our class schedule.
• In case of bad weather, please check the website calendar to see if class has been cancelled. It is also advisable to call our office as if the power is off we may not be able to update the website for a storm cancellation. You can assume if the community colleges are closed that we are as well.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

• Given that we we only take a limited number of students at a time into our programs in order to offer a high level personalized service -  all classes/services must be completed within the designated time frame indicated for that service or the class/service will expire. Classes/Services are non-refundable once payment is made and/or orientation session is attended so please choose your class/service carefully.
