Helping your puppy put its best paw forward Good Manners 101
Doggone Pawsitive helped develop Moncton’s first puppy kindergarten program. We specialize in early puppy training and socialization. Train your dog from 8 weeks to 5 months - prevent problems before they start! This is your dog’s prime learning period - when the brain is like a lump of clay waiting to be moulded. Animal behaviour research tells us this is the most important period in your puppy’s life for socialization - exposure to new sights, sounds, animals and learning new skills. Well socialized dogs tend to have fewer problems with fearful and aggressive behaviours toward other dogs and people as they get older.
The goal of this class is to teach your puppy good manners and socialize your puppy at the same time in a positive, fun and effective way. We teach you how to deal with problems such as puppy nipping, chewing, housetraining, jumping up, begging for food, stealing household objects, chasing children and other household pets and more. Your puppy will learn how to focus and pay attention, sit, lie down, stay, come when called, walk on a loose leash, give items it has in its mouth, lie down calmly on its matt, how to accept gentle touching, brushing and handling and some fun tricks too! Your puppy will learn appropriate play behaviour with other puppies - and owners will be educated in how to read dog body language and how dogs learn so they can better understand and train their puppy.
Our classes teach you how to prevent problems before they start - by managing the puppy’s environment and setting you up for success. Our focus is on rewarding good behaviour and finding positive alternatives for bad behaviour. Our instructors are experienced at assessing puppy behaviour and can help identify and offer solutions to behaviour problems such as fear, aggression and anxiety before they grow into larger problems. We don’t just train dogs - we train owners also!

We want to provide the highest level of personal care and training for your furry family members and to ensure there is sufficient space for your dog. In essence, through booking into daycare, private lessons, doggy nanny 9-1-1 or classes, you are reserving a spot for your dog in that service. In light of this, there is no cash value for daycare memberships or for lessons not completed. All services are non-refundable, non-transferable once payment is made/or first session attended. We also regret we cannot extend expiry dates on services as our staffing is booked accordingly. If there is no expiry stipulated on the service you purchase, we are happy to offer you one calendar year from the commencement of the service to complete the service.
